SUPER Nathan

Last spring Paul and Holly J. and I went to the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. in Park Slope (see photo here.) It's very fun if you ever get the chance to go. You get to try on capes in their full-service cape-testing station, and register your Superhero identity and powers in their Book of Superheroes. It's a really clever store, with great stuff such as 'invisible beam sensors,' 'space/time sleds,' 'foil force fields,' 'low budget utility belts,' 'invisibilty tracking devices,' and more. The coolest part is that it actually is a front for a tutoring center for young writers, and the entrance to the tutoring center is behind a wall of Superhero supplies. Good job Dave Eggars.

When Brigham, Jennie, and Jeremy were in town we decided to go out to Brooklyn, and found ourselves near the store. This time around Nathan donned the cape, and as you can see, it suited him well.

My Celebrity Look-alikes

Phew... they're all pretty good ones, although I'm not going to pretend that there wasn't a picture of Angela Landsbury in there too that I took out.

Check out Nathan's Celebrity Look-alikes... I especially love that he looks like both Little Richard and Tony Blair, and that the picture of 'Matthew Fox' is actually Ben Affleck.

Brothers in New York

We had visits from three brothers last week...

First Jeremy came from Provo to interview for graphic design internships for the summer. (This is Jeremy on our roof looking down through the skylight.)














While Jeremy was in town, Brigham and Jennie came up from D.C. to hang out too, which was a lot of fun. All three Brothers B in one place.















Then Michael came through on his whirlwind east coast tour, and we were lucky that he had some down time while in New York to come down and see our apartment and go out for some yummy Cuban food.

St. Patrick's Day Party

On Saturday night our friends Jeff & Mindy hosted a St. Patrick's Day party at which everyone got into the spirit of the holiday.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

First, happy birthday to Amy, Brigham, and Jeremy, who all celebrated birthdays this week. Also, happy birthday to Jenni and Michael, who will both be one year wiser this month.

Second, this is what our windows looked like this morning. March is such a tease. I can't remember ever having snow on St. Patrick's Day, but oh well. This is the New York winter where storms come on holidays. The Valentine's Day storm made me miss my flight to Utah. I hope this doesn't mean that April Fool's Day will be snowy as well.

Arizona Trip

So this happened about a month ago, but our friends Karisa and McKay got married.

I think this picture captures a lot of the elements of our trip: the actual wedding (in the background), the sun (which was an adjustment for us), and friends (they're not facing the camera, but they're there).

p.s. February + 70º = Amazing.

We did a road trip from SLC to Phoenix and back with Craig and Kristin, plus Amy, Grant, and Chelsea. To proove it, here's a picture of Sarah Jane strecthing. I really like this picture.

'It's a Scoooooooper'

We were out and about on Saturday and came accross this 'scooper.' We thought if nothing else that Spencer would think it was cool.

We are the Champions!

After coming in a disappointing second place last year, we came back this season and WON the dodgeball championship. It was a lot of fun, and has proved to be the best way to get through the winter in New York.

(Our win is dedicated to the Mills, Sundquists, and Kemps... team members from last year who couldn't be with us this season.)

The A's

Since it's the season of Thanksgiving, I figured I'd better get started being thankful for stuff. And I am. This morning Sarah Jane and I are going through the A's of the alphabet.

Abby Cannon (my neice), Amy Smart (my sister-in-law), Annette (my mom), apples, animals, aspirin, airplanes, aerodynamics (that might be a weird one, but it's an interesting topic), art, aesthetics, Asia, the Andes Mountains, amazon.com, anniversaries, architecture, America (in this case, the United States, though I am grateful for the Americas, as in the continents and all the appertaining cultures and geographies and some histories).

I think this is a good start. What would you add to the list?
